Jim Spira
Jim Spira is Chairman of enlight. Most recently he served as Chairman of Brulant, Inc. one of the top 25 technology firms in the world. Jim is widely regarded as an expert in developing and implementing winning, competitive strategies for major companies worldwide.
During his consulting career, Jim has helped the top management of numerous Fortune 500 companies to understand the marketplace challenges they faced and developed comprehensive plans to respond with preemptive, competitive strategies. He also designed organizational structures to enable the implementation of strategic initiatives. His approach to problem solving focuses on innovation, demonstrating that leaders who provoke their organizations into pursuing innovative solutions create the most value for their stakeholders.
As President and COO of American Greetings from 2000 to 2003, he leveraged his career-long focus on profit improvement. He designed and led a corporate restructuring program that generated annual savings in excess of $300M.
His career includes founding Cleveland Consulting Associates in 1974, which was later acquired by Computer Sciences Corporate in 1989. Under his leadership as President and COO, the firm became the premier consultancy in supply chain management, serving Fortune 500 manufacturers as well as major distributors and retailers.
Jim holds an MBA from the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania and a BA degree in History from Hobart College. He serves on a number of corporate boards including Dealer Tire, Jackson Hewitt and Ciber. Additionally, he is committed to volunteerism and community service.
Jim and his wife, Myrna, are natives of Cleveland and have two children and seven grandchildren.
